Introducing the Hunter Valley Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service:
We are all from local organisations that have expertise , knowledge and understanding of domestic violence and its effects on the individual and the community. We are based in Maitland (mainly), and meet monthly as the Maitland Domestic Violence Committee, in order to network, exchange service information, discuss ways we support clients and the interconnection of how domestic violence impacts on people within our community. Our members include representatives such as 2 Police Domestic Violence Liaison Officers, Carrie’s Place (Hunter Valley Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service), Staying Home Leaving Violence, Hunter Women’s Centre, Maitland Family Support, HNE Health – Hunter Valley Mental Health, Community Services, NSW Health, Maitland Hospital, Probation & Parole, Housing NSW and Centrelink.
