Mother Earth and biodegradable drink coasters.
In this blog I want to talk about biodegradable drink coasters.
Firstly, what does biodegradable mean?
biodegradable – adjective
(of a substance or object) capable of being decomposed by bacteria or other living organisms and thereby avoiding pollution.
In other words, if it once lived it will eventually return to the Earth. That’s how Mother Nature works.
Biodegradable substances include manufactured products based on natural materials such as pulpboard.
PULPBOARD:
It’s okay to print on pulpboard.
Pulpboard is biodegradable, compostable and renewable. A sustainable product made from trees.
FORESTS:
Sustainably managed forests are good for the environment.
Forests provide clean air, clean water and homes for wildlife.
You can never have enough trees. They turn carbon dioxide into oxygen for us to breathe. Without trees, humans would be in BIG trouble.
Sustainable forests are good for the economy.
Growing and harvesting trees provides jobs for millions of men and women all over the planet.
So don’t be embarrassed or feel guilty using disposable drink coasters. (And YES! print that email out too!) These drink coasters will have returned to the Mother long before your “out-of-date” phone, tablet or computer you just took to the recycling bin. Not that there was anything wrong with them in the first place. It’s just time to “update” and “keep up” with all the new technology in this ever changing world we live in.
