ANZAC Day.
ANZAC Day (Lest we forget) is one of Australia’s truly most important national commemorative occasions!
ANZAC Day Lest We Forget. It is a day that is commemorated by both Australians and New Zealanders on the 25th April every year, and marks the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli in 1915 of the Australian & New Zealand Army Corps. This date has been recognized and officially named as ANZAC Day since 1916.
It is now a day where we remember all those who died and served in military operations for their countries.
These brave men fought, and around 8,000 died at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War 1. The ANZAC spirit speaks of the qualities possessed by these men that we honour on this occasion and includes such characteristics as mateship, good humour, larrikinism, courage, endurance and ingenuity.
These soldiers, who were all volunteers, fought and many sacrificed their lives, for our FREEDOM.
The ANZAC legacy and what it means today is different for all of us. In subsequent years the meaning of ANZAC Day has been broadened to include those who have lost their lives in all military and peacekeeping operations since World War One. For most of us it is a time for reflection, counting our blessings and being grateful for this part of the world we live in.
Plonking down a drink on one of our disposable drink coasters that depicts ANZAC Day is a great way to celebrate and show your support for these heroes. We produce high quality coasters on the premium 390gsm coaster board, 95mm x 95mm square with round corners.
